The Story Behind the Classroom
For over 15 years, I have dedicated my career to public education. From teaching in the classroom to serving as a Dean of Instruction and Assistant Principal, I've worked every day to help students succeed and support the educators who make that success possible.

My experience in schools has taught me that strong communities are built through strong public schools. That's why I've advocated for increased funding for students, equitable contracts for educators, modernized school facilities, and policies that expand opportunity for every child.

I believe every student deserves a safe school, excellent teachers, and access to the resources they need to reach their full potential. That belief continues to guide my work in education and public service.

2026
Education Policy Fellowship
Selected for a competitive education policy fellowship and recognized for presenting a proposal to increase the weight of science in school accountability systems. The work focused on ensuring science receives greater attention alongside reading and math so students are better prepared for college, careers, and an increasingly STEM-driven world.
2022
Advocating for Students, Educators, and Schools
Testified before the DC Council to support teachers, advocate for increased funding for students, strengthen school resources, and promote equitable contracts that help attract and retain high-quality educators. Committed to ensuring education policies reflect the needs of students, families, and school communities.

DC Young Democrats Executive Board Member
Served on the Executive Board of the DC Young Democrats, helping engage young leaders in civic participation and public service while supporting initiatives that strengthen communities and expand opportunities for young people across the District.

Assistant Principal
Became an Assistant Principal, leading efforts to improve academic achievement, strengthen school culture, support teacher development, and create safe, inclusive learning environments where every student can thrive.
2018
Teacher & Dean of Instruction
Taught at a DC Public Charter School and later became Dean of Instruction. Supported teachers through coaching and professional development, led instructional initiatives, and worked to improve student achievement through high-quality teaching and learning.
2010
Began Teaching
Started a career in education with a commitment to serving students and expanding educational opportunity. Dedicated to ensuring every child has access to a high-quality education and the support needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
